Miri > Lambir Hills National Park

Lambir Hills National Park is one of the most species-rich forests in the world. The forest is a habitat to a rich variety of wildlife like gibbons, tarsiers, bearded pigs, flying squirrels, deer, bats, rodents, ant eating pangolins, and 157 types of bird.

There are a series of waterfalls along Sungai Liam. Among them are First, Second and Third or Latak waterfall. The 25-metres highLatak waterfall with large deep pool is the most popular among visitors.
The 22-metres high Tree Tower, situated on the Pantu Trail, is also an excellent place for bird watching.
There are many forest trails, composed of primary, secondary and tertiary trails, for exploring forests, valleys and waterfalls. The longest is the Summit Trail which leads to the top of Bukit Lambir (465 metres). It requires a guide and is excellent for adventurous hikers. |

Being only 30km (about 30 minutes drive) away from Miri town, connected by the sealed Miri-Bintulu Road, the park is easily accessible by private transport, buses and taxis. From Miri, Visitors can get into commercial buses that head for Batu Niah, Bintulu, Tinjar, Bakong or Bekenu bazaars. Day-trips to the park are also possible.
