Sabah > Pulau Tiga "Survivor Island"Pulau Tiga is an island situated in Pulau Tiga Park, located about 35 nautical miles southwest of Kota Kinabalu. It was the island where the popular TV programme "Survivor" was shot in 2001.
Several species of mammals, numerous birds (including the very rare megapode), a variety of reptiles and amphibians and hundreds of species of insects can be found on Pulau Tiga making it truly wild tropical island.
This is a remote island - you can stay in touch with home via Satellite phone or local Sim card, however, there is no internet connection on the island or in the nearest town.
How to get there Pulau Tiga Resort is situated about 35 nautical miles, on the southeast of Kota Kinabalu. To get there, you can either take a 2 hour journey from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Penyu by car, followed by a 25mins boat cruise to the island or take the easy way out and charter a boat from KK to the island itself. The Resort runs a boat service to and from Kuala Penyu twice daily, so you can get on and off the island if needed.
