Perak > Ipoh Railway StationJalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab,
Ipoh Railway Station, with its resemblance to the railway station in Kuala Lumpur, was designed by AB Hubback, the same man who desinged Kuala Lumpur railway station. Its construction began in 1914 and was completed in 1917. Ipoh Railway Station was built in the "British Raj" Moghul style with Moorish domes and turrets. This imposing structure was important for transporting Kinta Valley's valuable mineral during the colonials rule. This impressive landmark is known as "Taj Mahal of Ipoh" by the locals. The spesies of 'Epau' tree (antiaris toxicaria), where the name of 'Ipoh' comes from, can be found in front of the railway station. There is a hotel, named Station Hotel, above the station, on the second and third floors. Accommodation
