Kuala Lumpur > KL Railway StationJalan Sultan Hishamuddin
Built in 1910, the Moorish-style KL Railway Station, with spires, minarets, towers and arches was designed by architect AB Hubbock who was inspired by North Indian Islamic design. Situated in the heart of the city, it is the hub for the nation's railway transportation. The Malayan Railway Administration Building, another Moorish extravagance, is linked to the station by an underground throughfare. In 1986, it was refurbished with additional new facilities like air-conditioned waiting halls, toursm information centers, snack bars and etc. Today, it is solely one of the stop for the commuter trains when the newly-built KL Sentral starts its service, taking over the railway transportation service. However, this impressive architecture with graceful arches and minarets is still the most photographed landmarks.
